Christmas Puppies!

Well, we were not expecting puppies for Christmas, but on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 1:30am, I heard the first cry..the first of TEN PUPPIES! Geraldine (our Basset Hound) had picked up a lot of weight and was very fat, but we just threw it off to winter weight...a little more than last year! lol We believe that at least 1 Boxer is one of the daddy's...could be the only one. Attached is a picture of all 10 of the puppies nursing on Wed, December 23, 2009. They were 1 day old. Geraldine is doing great! We took her to the vet and she is taking her vitamins, antibiotics and Purina One Puppy Chow and LOTS OF WATER! lol She is able to feed all of them and they are growing fast! They will be one week old tomorrow and have already doubled in size! So these are our babies! We will be looking for good homes for them at 8 weeks old. They will need a fenced in back yard so they can run and play...whether they are more boxer or basset hound, they like to be outside and run. Being the "grandma" (lol) I won't just give them to anyone! ;)

Last day of Purse Sale!!!

Today is the last day of our Purse Sale that we have been running through the Summer and Fall. All purses have been $20 and under (some were below cost) on all purses and have about 200 new purses coming in tomorrow (we are picking them up tomorrow morning) and the prices have gone up significantly so we can no longer afford to sell everything for $20 and under. Some will remain $20, others below $20 and some up to $30 and $35 depending on the purse. We will also be getting in a lot of new wallets...new styles as well as some of the flat wallets and soft wallets I have been carrying all year. I'll post a few pictures tomorrow or Monday of the new purses in Stock! Gearing up for our Black Friday Tent and Sale!!! Bruce will be out front again this year with his wheels and deals! lol All the bath and body will be inside the store where it is nice and warm! He will be out there every weekend Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sunday through Christmas. Any returns/exchanges (no refunds, only exchanges) can be done here at the shop after Christmas.

We also have another vendor that will be out there with us this year who sells hand made Animal Toys and other products, as well as hand made purses and much much more! I will have her Animal items here in the store after Thanksgiving weekend as well! They will be here Black Friday and the following day on Saturday.

We look forward to seeing all of you between now and then! Scarlet

Princess Shelby as "Belle"

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of my granddaughter Shelby...she is just adorable and of course loves to play dress up! One of the pictures is with her Mommy and Daddy...Shelby is such a goofball! :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! BOO!!

The funnest Holiday is finally here! The one day out of the year that everyone, kids AND adults can dress up and be a child again for Halloween! I decided to dress up as a Cat today...So Scarlet The Cat is In the Scarlet Indulgence Shop today giving out candy to the kids that come by with their parents and then more candy at home after we close at 6pm today! :) I love seeing the trick or treaters!!! I don't think you ever outgrow that...Teens are welcome to come to my house for candy..BUT...you MUST dress up! ;) Don't just show up in jeans and a t'shirt...use our imagination and I'm thrilled to see you AND reward you with candy!!!! :)

I blogged about my Natural Mineral Make up yesterday and wanted to say that I am wearing my make up, eye shadow and blush in this picture! :) I'll be rolling out the Lip Liner & Color and Eye Liner in the coming weeks...it is very light and just a little bit of it blends in my freckles (and I have a lot of them) and some sun damage spots that are pink. It also has a 20 SPF Sun Screen naturally (not that I need it on this rainy Halloween! lol). Hope you like it! I have great luck in blending the colors to match everyone individually, especially dark skin...That was a challenge at first, but I've got it down now! :)

I am offering 1 FREE 4 oz Candle today with any purchase of $5.00 or more! That's my Halloween Gift to my customers. The candles burn for 20 hours, put off a beautiful scent throw and are 100% COSMETIC GRADE SOY WAX! So what does that mean? It means you can use it as a LOTION!!! How cool is that! It burns at a very low temperature and will not burn your skin to touch it, so stick your finger in the burning candle...or pour a little in your hand and use it for hands, feet, elbows or anywhere else! My customers love it! I had a post from a friend/customer on FaceBook this week saying she loves the candles and that her house smells like my Soap Shop and is just thrilled! They are still on sale too! 4 oz - $2.00 EACH; 8 oz - $4.00 Each -- While They Last!!! We will no longer be making the 4 oz jars anymore, only the 8 oz jars. We may make more tea light candles instead...they burn 6 hours and put off a nice scent throw...as you walk by you catch a little whif of the light fragrances.

Anyway, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Hope everyone has a Safe Halloween and can't wait to see pictures of all the kids! I'll be posting on of my granddaughter later this evening. She is coming to the Shop to get ready...She is going to be "Belle" From Beauty and the Beast...she already things she is a Princess...so not far from character! LOL

Until next time...Have a GREAT Day!!! Scarlet

Now Availalbe...All Natural Mineral Make Up!

I am making ALL NATURAL Mineral Make Up without preservatives which is one of the main problems people have wearing make up...it irritates the skin. Here are a couple of pictures...first the make up and brushes that I have and 2 other pictures...one of me (with the glasses) with my new make up and one of my best friend Amy wearing it. Yes, she was one of my guinea pigs in testing everything! lol Amy doesn't wear make up very often but loves it and wears it all the time now! :)

The make up is very light and does not feel like you are wearing anything on your skin...no powder needed on top of the mineral foundation. It blends in the freckles (which I have) and can be personally colored to match your skin tone individually. Trial Size is $6.00 and holds about .5 oz; Large size (shown in picture of make up and brushes) holds 2 oz and is $16.00. I also make blush, eye shadow and will be making bronzing powder, loose powder for those of you who use it and lip and eye liner...very soon! :)

All Make up should be used within 2-3 months...even with preservatives. The idea of my Mineral Make Up is that you have fresh make up every 2-3 months, thus now using it for 6 months (or longer) and having germs and dead skin flakes in your make up which can cause acne break outs among other skin problems.

So this my update for today!

You can follow me on Twitter now!

Once again, I find that Bruce (my husband) has already set up an account on Twitter, but of course had not time to do anything with it. I found it by chance so I'm going to start "tweeting" now! So cool! If you do not have a twitter account, it is free and you can do so much with it and find so many people on there! Here is the link to my Twitter Page: http://twitter.com/ScarletSoaps

I am also on FaceBook! Search: Scarlet Indulgence and my page will come up. Send a friend request and I will add you ASAP! :)

Both of these accounts are open to anyone who wants to follow me. I'll be adding USTREAM videos soon of me making my products and other stuff like just hanging out with friends while we do mindless things like label soap! lol

I can't believe that I have waited so long to do this blog, Twitter and FaceBook! Duh!!! lol
Lots of customers have been following my progress on having all the bath bombs available and are coming in like crazy the last few days now that I have made 8 trays of bath bombs! That is a Very Good Thing! (Can you tell I love Martha Stewart??? lol)

Had a great afternoon today spending time with my daughter and granddaughter...I don't get to do that often, so it was a wonderful afternoon and I so enjoyed having them here at the Shop and meeting my friends and customers...I talk about them all the time, so I was glad they could meet them! :)

Have a great evening everyone! signing off until tomorrow! ;)

Updates on Products and Fragrances Available

I have been working very hard the last few weeks getting my inventory back up and full. I have almost all of my soaps in stock and only a few more bath bombs to make and they will be back to full capacity in all fragrances as well. I brought back some oldies but goodies ... Peach Melba, Enchanted Apple, and Pumpkin Spice will be ready in about 4 weeks...just in time for the Holidays!

Soaps I will be making in the next week: Exotic Poppies, Vanilla Bean, English Gentleman, and Blackberry. The "Hunter's Soap" will be ready in about 2 weeks now....Grape Muscadine Soap! It smells really great and it is for everyone, but specifically at the request of my Hunter Customers! Can't wait to see if it draws the big Bucks in looking for the Muscadines! :)

I have also been making the small "trial size" shea creams in each fragrance, so they are fresh and are great for carrying in your purse.

We have decided not to attend the North Paulding Elementary Fall Festival this year. I have an appointment that afternoon and Bruce is on the volunteer list to help with the concessions at the EPHS Football game. We are still checking into attending the EPMS Holiday Craft Festival this year....I'll post the date as soon as we have it. They always have such great crafters there and good crowds too! :)

That's the update for me today! Enjoy this beautiful Sunny Fall Day! :)

My First Blog!

My husband Bruce set this up in 2008 and I didn't even know it was here! So here is my first blog and I am very excited!!

We are 2 months away from completing our first year of having our Shop open and it has been an incredible year! Our customer base has tripled this year and we are approaching the Holiday Season which is always very busy and I expect to be even busier this year making lots of products to keep in stock! The Scarlet Indulgence Shop has a lot of different things that appeal to everyone...We carry fashion purses and wallets (including animal prints) for women and girls, Travel bags and make up bags, jewelry, key chains that hook on your purse so that you don't lose them! And the NEW purse hangers that slide on a table top when you are out to dinner and hang your purse on them ... no more germs on your purse!

Having said all that, my primary business is making and selling All Natural Bath and Body products. I have been making them for 8 years now and all are my own recipes that took my this long to perfect...Shea Soaps with Sweet Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil and Olive Oil as the primary ingredients making the soaps High in Vitamins A (natural retinol), B, C, D and E. They are excellent for sensitive skin, problem skin such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea. All natural color and no preservatives. I also make Shea Cream that is Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil and Alovera Juice...again High in Vitamin A along with the others and the added benefit of Aloe. The two combined make a huge difference in treating the symptoms of the above skin conditions. It does not HEAL them, but TREATS them. As long as you continue using them, you continue to see an improvement in your skin. Bath Bombs are also great for Skin...not only do they smell wonderful and are great for a long tub bath in the evenings, but they also have Sweet Almond and Grapeseed Oil (high in the same vitamins) and help soften and treat dry skin. I also have lip balms made with shea and coco butter, bees wax, sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil...again all natural. I make Peppermint with Natural Peppermint Essential Oil which is a great treatment for dry lips...similar to an ointment. I also make Flavor Free and Flavors such as Bubble Gum (a favorite for everyone!), Juicy Grape, Green Apple, Banana, Orange Cream and Watermelon. I make different flavors on occasion such as Cafe' Latte, Peach, Strawberry and others.

We are located in Hiram, Georgia at 1598 Hiram Douglasville Highway, Hiram, Georgia 30141. From 278 in Hiram, Take 92 South towards Douglasville and make a left at the Red Light at the corner of Highway 92 and Hiram Sudie Road. We are in the Grey House beside the Grands Convenience Store which is currently being restored from the flood last month.

We will be doing a couple more School Fall Festivals: Northside Elementary School on October 30th from 5-9pm; Union Elementary School November 6th from 6-9pm and are waiting to hear the date for East Paulding Middle School Holiday Festival which is usually the first couple of weeks in November on a Saturday. I will update that date when it becomes available.

So that is my first Blog!!! I will post on a regular basis and will try to post daily as to what products I'm making and fragrances and keep everyone updated on different sales and events going on here at Scarlet Indulgence. Stay tuned...the Pumpkin Spice Candles and Soap will be available mid November as well as Christmas Wreath Candles ... Great Fragrances for the Holidays and they always sell out fast!

Have a great weekend everyone! Thanks for reading my blog! Scarlet
